We send sincere sympathy and condolences to the family and co-workers of fallen California Highway Patrol Officer Andrew Camilleri.  Officer Camilleri was killed when his patrol vehicle was slammed into by a drunk driver on Interstate 880 near Hayward, California.  The crashed occurred on Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24, 2017 less than an hour short of mid-night.

CHP Officer Jonathan Velasquez was also in the patrol car and is recovering from his injuries.

Sergeant Sean Griffin, Officer Blake Cunningham, and Officer David Johnson recognized a person they wanted to make contact with standing near Turner Terrace. They also knew that he had a search condition for prior offenses. Seems like the search condition really didn’t mean that much to this individual seeing as how he was in possession of narcotics for sale as well as a handgun.
