Felix SungOn Sunday, December 12, 2010 Dudley Perkins Motorcycle Company of San Francisco sponsored their 27th annual motorcycle run and toy drive to collect and raise funds to provide Christmas toys and presents to children who otherwise might go without. Dudley Perkins and the SFPOA in part sponsored the motorcycle run that included a stop at San Francisco General Hospital to drop off the collected toys, and then a continued ride to the Mariposa Yacht Club where several members of the SFPD Solos cooked a great breakfast for all those involved in the event.

This year’s event was also organized honor SFPD Officer Felix Sung who just one year ago was involved in a terrible on-duty motorcycle accident that very nearly claimed his life. Felix had been providing a uniformed escort for last year’s Toy Run participants when the accident occurred.

It was great to see Felix and his loving family at this year’s event, and it was a special highlight for me and others to be able to stand with Felix for photographs. He has been a constant source of inspiration to us all, and he has never given up his fight for full recovery. Felix is a warrior in the truest sense of the word and will continue working hard to rehabilitate himself. A special commemorative pin honoring Felix was presented to all those who participated in the event.
