…October 17:
On Monday October 17 the Guardians of the City will conduct a ceremony commemorating the service of the public safety personnel and NERT volunteers who responded served during the period of the Loma Prieta Earthquake Oct 17, 1989. The Ceremony will be held at the Guardians Fire Museum Building located at Pine and Presidio. Open house will start at 1600 hours with a short presentation and memorial at 5:05 hours. Reception will follow in the lobby of the Fire Credit Union located next door.

The production Heart of a Soldier chronicles the life of Rick Rescorla who died on 9/11 at the World Trade Center when after leading a number of persons out of the building he returned to check for survivors and never returned.
