Pink Patch Project: SFPOA Raises Funds & Awareness for Breast Cancer

  • October 4, 2019

Pink Patch Project

October is breast cancer awareness month and the San Francisco Police Officers Association is partnering with the San Francisco Police Department and Bay Area Cancer Connections on the Pink Patch Project to increase breast cancer awareness and raise funds for research, prevention, treatment and ultimately a cure.

Pink PatchApproximately 40,000 women a year die due to breast cancer.  This year alone, over 270,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in the United States.  However, there is hope.  Breast cancer deaths have been on the decline since 1990 thanks to early detection, better screening, increased awareness, and new treatment options.

This month, you will see San Francisco Police Officers wearing a pink police patch on their uniforms as a reminder of the importance ensuring we are able to expand both research and care to battle this deadly disease. You can help us save lives by supporting the Pink Patch Project to raise funds for Bay Area Cancer Connections.

All month long we will be selling pink San Francisco Police Department police patches, T-shirts, lapel pins and bracelets to raise money for the cure.  T-shirts are $20, patches and lapel pins are $10 and bracelets are $5. Email us at info@sfpoa.com to get your own pink patch apparel and help us battle a disease that takes the lives of far too many women in our country.
