This past month has been particularly difficult for our members. The tragic loss of Officer Vinnie Etcheber’s wife, Stacee Etcheber at the massacre in Las Vegas hit us all very hard. Couple that with the intentional attempted murder of Officer Elia Lewin-Tankel on October 18th and the shooting of another one of our members on Halloween has left us all reeling. We pray for all of these officers and their families.
These horrific incidents demonstrate the perils of our profession. Our members have rallied around all of these families and we are grateful that our community has rallied around them as well. This month’s paid Public Service Announcement on KCBS radio (listen to the PSA) touches on these tragedies and offers thanks to our supporters.
