Greetings!  There is still time for you to register for this year's International Association of Women Police (IAWP) Training Conference, that will be held August 21-25, 2011 in Lexington, Kentucky.  The host hotel this year is the Hilton in Downtown Lexington; room rates are just $139.00, but the room block is going fast, so if you're planning on attending the conference, or seriously thinking about attending, please call and make your reservations now to ensure you can take advantage of the discounted low rate.  To reserve a room, call 859-231-9000, and make sure you reference the IAWP 2011 Conference.

If you've never attended an IAWP Conference before, I can tell you it's a fantastic experience, and well worth the cost of attending.  (Plus, it's a tax write-off, to boot!).  The training at the conferences are always second to none, and the opportunity to network with other women in law enforcement from all ranks and agencies from around the country and around the world is priceless!

This year's theme is "Racing to the Future", which is very apropos with the area's rich history in horse racing.  The area is beautiful with it's rich "Kentucky Blue" grass, and will be a wonderful setting for this year's conference!  The training workshops will include training in Tactical/Patrol, Leadership/Supervision, International Policing, Global Terrorism and Preparedness, Emerging Trends in Investigations, Technology, and Training, and Personal and Professional Enrichment.  Some of the workshops that will be available are as follows:

 To register for the conference, go to www.iawp2011.org; the conference website can also be accessed by going to the IAWP website at www.iawp.org, and clicking on the 49th Annual Conference.  Registration rates are $600.00 for IAWP members, and $650.00 for non-members.  Registration inculdes all training, the Opening Ceremonies, other meals, all non-training events, the Awards Luncheon and the Final Banquet.  You can also purchase a single day conference pass of $125.00, or a two day pass of $250.00 per person.  Companion and retiree registration rates are $325.00.  You do NOT have to be an IAWP member to be a companion or a retiree registrant.
